Step 1 - A first sketch of "Proper Motivation"

Proper Motivation!

Here is a sketch of my next project inspired from The Chocolate Race that was held here in Port Dalhousie, St. Catharines, Ontario this past April.  During the race at the water stations free chocolates were given away, and of course at the finish line they had chocolate brownies, truffles, ice cream and chocolate martini's.  Now that's what I call Proper Motivation!

As you can see I've put graph lines over the sketch to help me transfer my drawing from sketchbook to wood panel.  I've ordered a 36" x 48" wood panel from Curry's Art Supply online shop and it should get to me on Monday or Tuesday and then I can get started!

Hiatus Over! The Chocolate Race Commission Finally Finished!

I'm Back

I was flipping out trying to do my daily sculpting / painting challenge, Chocolate Race commission, work full-time, and be a wife and mother to two teens.  Needless to say I was doing none of the above well, and more than that, I was becoming a grumpy, stressed out B#$%^&.

Definitely not pretty!

So I took a week off from my daily challenge work and focused wholeheartedly on my 4 Chocolate Race paintings and today I finished!  You can see them in The Chocolate Race put on by Dirty Runner Productions held in Port Dalhousie, St. Catharines, Ontario on Sunday April 29th.

CHOCOLATE REVENGE

Chocolate Race Update - Chocolate Revenge

Thought you all might like to see two of the  finished pieces for one of the stations at the end of The Chocolate Race in Port Dalhousie on April 29th, 2012.  It will be called Chocolate Revenge!

I've taken the photos in my art studio and the light has kind of washed away some of the bright bold colour, but it gives you the idea.  As well, be aware that when I'm done all four of my paintings I will be borrowing a saw and cutting around all the animals and people so you won't see any of the white background.  That's why I didn't paint the whole thing.

This is just to give you a taste of things to come.  You will have to join us in Port Dalhousie April 29th to enjoy the real thing.  Look forward to seeing you there!
